9. NEW BUSINESS.
9.1 Procurement policy – first presentation.
Staff is in the process of drafting a procurement policy. This item will
come back to the Board of Trustees for final consideration in
September or October.
9.2 Health Insurance Plan Selection for Village/Everest Metro/SAFER.
Motion by White,second by Ziegler to approve the selection of Group
Health Cooperative as the health care provider for the Village of
Weston/EMPD/SAFER,with both a Traditional and HSA plan offering.

9.3 Ordinance No. 17-026: An Ordinance to amend Figures 5.01(2) and
5.02(2) to remove “Principal” from “Minimum Principal Building
Separation (ft.)” and modify the “Minimum Building Separation (ft.)” in
all the zoning districts to 10 feet; and to amend Figure 5.02(1) to
modify the “Minimum Lot Area” in the INT zoning district from
30,000 square feet to 20,000 square feet.

9.8 Discussion and Action on the future of the Municipal Center
Monument Sign and options for replacement.
This item was discussed at the August 21, 2017 Committee of the
Whole meeting.
10. REMARKS FROM ADMINISTRATOR.
10.1 Executive Assistant Employment Offer.
Guild reported Jessica Trautman began employment today as the new
Finance Director. Victoria Henschel, Assistant to the Administrator, will
begin on Friday, August 25th and Will Harrison, Utility Technician, will begin
on September 5th.
Guild also reported he has received a lot of feedback from local businesses
and residents regarding internet. He discussed possible short and long-term
solutions.
All-staff meetings will resume in September.
11. REMARKS FROM TRUSTEES.
There was a short discussion on hourly employees attending All-staff
meetings. Guild gave an update on the proposed library branch in Weston.
Porlier reported he received an email regarding a safety concern from a
resident. This resident was invited to a board meeting to address his
concerns. White asked to be excused from the next Plan Commission and

CDA meetings next month. Ziegler asked to be excused from the next
Property and Infrastructure meeting. Zeyghami pointed out that there is a
lot of garbage on Schofield Avenue from the garbage trucks. The trucks
should have covers on them to prevent the garbage from blowing out.
12. REMARKS FROM PRESIDENT.
The board members will meet in October to discuss the Administrator’s
review.
13. ANNOUNCEMENTS.
13.1 Ruder Ware Local Government Seminar, 9/26 @ 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
