Higgins explained that there was a subdivision platted on the east side of Alderson St. on the corner of Weston Ave. Since that Plat, the property remained vacant with unimproved roads and lots that were never developed. The owner is looking at selling the property, but the purchaser would like to purchase the entire property of about 20 acres. Since the Plat is over 20 years old, this results in a different process in vacating the Plat and streets. The Board would need to adopt a resolution vacating the streets and that would accompany the petition to the Circuit Court to vacate the Plat. The purchaser of the property would be responsible then for moving forward with further action.
