Board of Aldermen Meeting

CITY OF WILLARD BOARD OF ALDERMEN SPECIAL MEETING MAY 12, 2010 5:30 P.M. Board present- Aldermen Richard Simpson, Aldermen David Hemphill, Aldermen Tim Magee, and Aldermen Bryan Vincent. Not present were Aldermen Pat Lloyd, Aldermen Doug Johnson, and Mayor Jamie Schoolcraft. Also present- Deputy City Clerk/Community Relations Officer Kate Gould and Public Works Director Justin Reaves. Guest present- Kim Haase, James Rekus, Roscoe Killingsworth, Darrell Biellier, Gene Thomas, Robert Mitchals, and Betty Thomas. Sarah Overstreet of the Willard Cross Country Times was also present. Meeting called to order at 6:05 by Board President Richard Simpson. Roll Call Aldermen Simpson-present; Aldermen Hemphill-present; Aldermen Lloyd---------; Mayor Schoolcraft---------; Aldermen Johnson-----------; Aldermen Magee-present; and Aldermen Vincent-present. Discussion regarding sewer connection with Springfield Aldermen Simpson gave background information on the sewer issue and spoke about a meeting he attended with Greene County and Springfield representatives a few weeks prior. Aldermen Hemphill and Public Works Director Justin Reaves gave their impression of the meeting. Citizens asked questions and the board discussed sending a letter to Springfield indicating an interest in moving forward with discussions on sewer issues. Aldermen Simpson called for a break at 6:35 p.m. Aldermen Simpson called the meeting back to order at 6:58 p.m. The board members discussed signing a letter indicating the Board of Aldermen’s interest in moving forward with discussions regarding sewer. Willard Board of Aldermen Special Meeting Minutes Page 1 May 12, 2010  Motion made by Aldermen Vincent and seconded by Aldermen Hemphill to approve sending the letter to Springfield, adding in the text “not negotiate” in the bottom paragraph, and giving the Aldermen who were not present until 5pm on Friday, May 17th to sign the letter before it was sent. Aldermen Simpson-Aye; Aldermen Hemphill-Aye; Aldermen Magee-Aye; and Aldermen Vincent-Aye. All votes aye. Motion carried. Adjourn Meeting Motion made by Aldermen Hemphill and seconded by Aldermen Magee to adjourn the special meeting.
