WHEREAS, over many decades, this committee has commonly been known as the Village Beautification Committee;
and
WHEREAS, over these many years, committee members and fellow residents have frequently remarked that the
word “Beautification” is a nebulous descriptive that does not accurately describe the active work the members
perform in our gardens, such as the design, planting, and maintenance of the three public gardens entrusted to our
care; and
WHEREAS, in addition to planting, weeding, and watering the gardens in pollinator-friendly and native-plant centered
ways, our members, true to our mission, seek to enhance the historical, aesthetic, and educational quality of life in
the Village of Williamsville by creating culturally enhanced gardens, as well as presenting related events to the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this year the members of the Village of Williamsville Beautification
Committee commit to researching and then suggesting a new name for the committee by presenting it to the Village
