July 19, 2023 A regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners was held on July 19, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at the City Meeting Room. Present Commissioners John Clausen, Lisa Hedstrom, Jim Schacher and Pres. LeeAnn Domonoske-Kellar. Motion made by Schacher and seconded by Clausen to approve the minutes from July 5, 2023 meeting as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Hedstrom and seconded by Schacher to approve the agenda as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Pres. Domonoske-Kellar opened the special hearing at this time. The City received no verbal or written protest against the variance request submitted by Dustin and Shawna Clausen to construct a house 24 inches past the 25 foot set back at 509 Burleigh Road. Motion made by Schacher and seconded by Hedstrom to approve the variance request as presented. Roll call vote. Aye Comm. Hedstrom, Schacher and Pres. Domonoske-Kellar. Abstain: Comm. Clausen. Absent: Comm. Kary. Motion carried. Pres. Domonoske-Kellar closed the special hearing. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by Schacher to approve Tand Constructions application for payment for the 2022 Street and Utility Improvement Project. All present voted aye, motion carried. Total amount being requested is $260,698.50. The City of Wilton will celebrate the 125th Quasquicentennial in July 2024. General discussion was held about event. Comm. Schacher reported that he and Comm. Kary interviewed Morgan Hedstrom for the custodian position at the Memorial Hall. The position was offered to Hedstrom and she accepted. General discussion was held about the 2024 budget. Motion made by Schacher and seconded Clausen to approve Cody Hultberg building applications to construct a fence and 8x12 shed at 402 McLean Avenue as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Hedstrom and seconded by Schacher to approve the gaming application for Sacred Heart Church to conduct bingo and a raffle on October 8, 2023 as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Clausen and seconded Schacher to approve the gaming application for the First Presbyterian Church to conduct a raffle on September 9, 2023 as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. General discussion was held about the disconnect policy for non-payment of water bills. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by Kary to pay bills as presented. Roll call vote. Aye: Comm. Clausen, Kary, Hedstrom, Schacher and Pres. Domonoske-Kellar. Motion carried. With no other items for discussion, Pres.
