Adjourn MINUTES The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 5:20pm. Members Present: Mayor Seth Leonard Councilors: Nicole Mace Officers Present: Angela Aldieri, Assistant City Clerk Others Present: None II. Public Comment No public comment was made. Discussion/Approval: Nominations for Eight Person Search Committee to be recommended to City Council The search committee for the City Manager is to be eight members. Two of those members are to be from City Council. Mayor Leonard is willing to fill one of the slots with the second councilor to be nominated at the August 1st Council meeting. Another slot was to be filled by a member of a partner organization. Amila Merdzanovic of the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program is willing to serve on the committee for this position. There were two slots to be filled by community members at large with one of those reserved for a new American. Hal Colston has volunteered to fill one position. Discussion regarding difficulty in finding someone to fill the new American position followed. The possibility of going outside the new American participants if a candidate could not be found was considered. Sally Tipson is willing fill the slot on the committee for a small business owner. The Winooski Community Partnership position has been volunteered for by Sarah Sears. The eighth seat on the committee will be member of staff to be nominated on August 1st. Discussion regarding finding candidates for the remaining community position followed. The possibility of former commission or board volunteers was considered. Both Mayor Leonard and Councilor Mace agreed to brainstorm how to fill the remaining slot before the August 1st meeting. MOTION by Councilor Mace, seconded by Mayor Leonard to recommend to Council the five named candidates for nomination to the search committee at the August 1st City Council meeting. Voted and passed 2-0. IV. Adjourn MOTION by Councilor Mace, seconded by Mayor Leonard to adjourn the Nominating Committee meeting at 5:33pm. Voted and passed 2-0.
