IV. Department and City Updates

Minutes/Notes: DPW presented FY ‘20 budget to Council for review; Update regarding the long-proposed hotel
at Champlain Mill envisions a potential agreement to provide space on Abenaki Way for the hotel in addition to
a potential parking garage. City will engage in public outreach and ballot vote in advance of Town Meeting Day
in March. There will be no property tax impact from this project. More details here:

City received a wayfinding grant for the existing garage to increase and improve signage; City looking to move to
utilize the Park Mobile app soon; A bond vote will be proposed for the Hickock St. water main replacement, to
be completed in 2020 would be street reconstruction.
V. Update on Myers Pool Project – review current cost estimate and VE options

Minutes/Notes: City presented design development to Council. Continued construction doc review at 50% to be
presented in Feb. Final bid docs projected to be out in April with construction to start in May/June; Fundraising
continues which will determine extent of extras including a potential slide; Other items still to be determined

VI. East Allen Street corridor scoping study

Minutes/Notes: East Allen Street Scoping study to commence via consultant. Proposal approved and funded
through the CPCRP Unified Planning and Work Plan Program. Proposal describes the general scope of work for
the study. City commissions to appoint liaisons to scoping study, Corey Berman will represent PWC. Scoping
Study Committee will also potentially include city partner such as Great Cedars, City Lights, Beverage Warehouse
and will be open to public as well.

The Public Works Commission is a standing group of residents tasked to assist with strategic planning for the Public
Works Department at the City of Winooski. The Commission will focus on the services and programs provided by
the Department, including streets & sidewalks, water/waste & stormwater, energy, maintenance of park grounds,
municipal facilities, fleet & the downtown parking garage.
