Box A * Withee, Wisconsin 54498 The Village of Withee Board met on January 8, 2024, in the Municipal Building Conference Room at 6:30 p.m. for the regular board meeting. ROLL CALL President Lindgren called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by Trustees Lindgren, Mueller, Frankewicz, and Kalepp. Trustee Shelton was absent. Clerk Niemi recorded the minutes. Also, present were Cindy Cardinal, DPW Derek Schad, and Police Chief Patrick Fehlman. MINUTES A Kalepp/Mueller motion to approve the minutes of the December 11, 2023, regular meeting carried with all ayes. FINANCIAL STATEMENTS A Frankewicz/Kalepp motion to approve the monthly financial statements for the General, Water, and Sewer Accounts carried with all ayes. PAYMENT OF BILLS A Frankewicz/Kalepp motion to approve paying the General Account checks 36546 thru 36591, Water Account checks 7324 thru 7335, and Sewer Account checks 2573 thru 2576 carried with all ayes. PAYROLL REPORT The board reviewed the employee time cards and payroll report. COMMUNITY INPUT There was no community input. COMMITTEE REPORT There were no reports. VILLAGE CROPLAND LEASE Clerk Niemi talked to the current lessee, and he offered to rent the cropland for the next three years at the same price. A Kalepp/Mueller motion to continue leasing the cropland to Mark Martin for $65 per acre for 18 acres for the next three years carried with all ayes. POLICE REPORT Chief Fehlman will compile an end-of-the year report with a breakdown of cases showing trends and a comparison of 2022 to 2023. Fehlman is reaching out to the owner of the ATV abandoned at the park. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS The furnace for the north section of the municipal building wasn’t working, so quotes were obtained from Jakel Plumbing & Heating, N.L. Stock, and Maki Heating. With the furnace being 20+ years old, it was suggested that it should be replaced. A Frankewicz/Kalepp motion to purchase with funds from the Building Maintenance savings a Rheem furnace with 10-year warranty from Maki Heating for $4,500 installed carried with all ayes. DPW Schad said the sewer line on Eastwood Street got the rocks removed by Haas and televising showed it completely clean. Schad will schedule a company to line the pipe. B&M Technical Services has upgraded the SCADA computer, so he can fully control the water plant while offsite. Schad reported that David Laabs will be snowplowing for the City of Owen but will help the Village of Withee first if needed. Schad and Laabs took down Christmas lights last week.  GENERAL DEPARTMENT The board was presented with the information that Randy Shelton, Susan Kalepp, and William Kroeplin are running for the three trustee positions in the spring election which is April 2, 2024. A Kalepp/Mueller motion to adjourn at 6:47 p.m. carried with all ayes.
