NOTICE TO RESIDENTS OF THE

There was a regular meeting of the Wonewoc Village Board at the Village Hall in the
Village of Wonewoc at 6:00 p.m. 7-23-25.

Motion to accept Bills and Vouchers by Roehling, 2nd by Schmidt - passed

Public Comment:
Richard Kilmer – canoe landing driveway needs more grave
Police Chief Brummeyer introduced & commended Jazman Johnson who repainted the
Police Dept sign on the village hall.
Committee Reports
Finance Report – reviewed & explained the tentative sewer minimum Equivalent User
Formula to the board
Sewer & Water – up-date on Treatment Plant progress
Electric – Damian continues to work on grid up-grade
Police Report – potential two additional part-time officers
Streets & Roads – rain hampering progress on Washington Street repair
Parks & Tourism – Wi-Fi at pool and campsites installed, canoe landing shelter rock
refreshed
Library Report – solar project up-date
Motion to approve the Public Pool as a suitable location for the Lion’s Club drinking
fountain by Roraff, 2nd by Schmidt - passed. Lion Club members present agreed.
Motion to approve the appointment of Ann Blackdeer to the Library Board as an In-Town
Representative by Schmidt, 2nd by Roehling - passed. Term to start Sept. 2025.
Motion to approve the Finance Committee’s recommendation to purchase a 12-month
Special CD for $12,000.00 with the Bank of Mauston at an interest rate of 3.96%. USDA
Debt Reserve by Roraff, 2nd by Schumann - passed
Motion to authorize the Sewer and Water Committee to prepare an amended draft of the
current Sewer Ordinance 2025-01 for board review by Schmidt, 2nd by Kucher - passed.
Motion to approve USDA Draw Number 2022-37 by Schmidt, 2nd by Roehling - passed.
Motion to approve the funding for the Police committee’s recommendations for upgrading
the squad car computer system for $3,190.00. Reference Baycom quote #SC20250702B
by Schmidt, 2nd by Roraff - passed. Total cost not to exceed $3,796.00.
Motion to authorize the Police Committee to prepare an amended draft of the current
ordinance TITLE 8 MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, Section 8.01.05 Parking, stopping
and standing regulated (B) to include Village Parking Lots for board review by Schumann,
2nd by Roehling - passed.
Motion to authorize the Finance Committee to work with the local Airbnb owners along with
Legal to address room tax collection within the Village of Wonewoc. Actions to include the
possibility of recouping any lost tax revenue which has previously been paid by the Airbnb
owners by Schmidt, 2nd by Roehling - passed
Motion to approve the funding for the hardware up-grades to the current computer(s)
needed to support Window11 operating software approved at the 5/28/2025 board
meeting. Reference Maven Computers quote #1002. Total cost not to exceed $3,703.00
by Roraff, 2nd by Schmidt.
Motion to approve the start of the Raze & Removal process on parcel #291910223, at 311
West Street by Roraff, 2nd by Schmidt - passed. Village Attorney Roy stated our Building
Inspector should be contacted for this inspection. Dept of Health need not be involved.
Motion to accept the surrender of Toors Easy Stop Inc, licenses Class “A” Beer and “Class
A” liquor at 300 Center Street, owner Sahibpreet Singh Toor, contingent on the successful
closing of the real estate sale by Schmidt, 2nd by Schumann – passed. Village Attorney
Roy stated vaping licenses cannot be withheld.
Motion to approve the Alcohol Beverage License Application for Wonewoc Mini Mart, LLC
at 300 Center Street, owners Gokarna Ojha & Lila Mainali, contingent on the successful
closing of the real estate sale by Schmidt, 2nd by Kucher – passed.
