NOTICE TO RESIDENTS OF THE
VILLAGE OF WONEWOC
There was a meeting of the Water & Sewer Committee at the Village Hall in the Village of
Wonewoc at 5:00 p.m. 7-30-25.

1. Agreed to review and compare two proposals: Matt – Y, Ed – Y, Steve agreed
a. Residential Equivalent User (REU) format.
b. Sewer Minimum determined by using the 2026 Sewer Budget divided by
Total village water used. This will determine cost per one thousand gallons of
water being sent to treatment plant. The sewer minimum will be calculated
using this water rate multiplied by the residents’ actual monthly water usage.
2. Agreed to use August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2025 timeframe to collect 12 months of
effluent discharge data for usage purposes. Matt – Y, Ed – Y, Steve agreed
3. Agreed to use the 2026 Sewer Budget for all calculations. Matt – Y, Ed – Y Steve

4. No action taken to establish how the REU sewer minimum charge is applied to new
utility customers. If we use Agenda Item 1b. this is not an issue.
5. Agree the minimum Residential Equivalent User (REU) amount should be the same
for all users. If we use Agenda Item 1b, this is not an issue
6. Agreed to set the minimum for Non-Residential Equivalent User (REU) accounts
should be the same for all customers. If we use Agenda Item 1b. this is not issue.

7. Agreed to establish a rule for Summer Water Mortarium users. The customer would
have to install a special meter at their expense. Matt – Y, Ed – Y, Steve agreed

1. Discuss and possibly take action to agree on using the sewer minimum Residential
Equivalent User (REU) format.

3. Discuss and possibly take action to agree on which calendar year to use for the
operating budget REU formula
4. Discuss and possibly take action to establish how the REU sewer minimum charge
is applied to new utility customers.
5. Discuss and possibly take action to set a minimum Residential Equivalent User
(REU) amount.
6. Discuss and possibly take action to set a minimum for Non-Residential Equivalent
User (REU) accounts. i.e. Business, Commercial, Public Authority etc.
7. Discuss and possibly take action to establish a rule to require a special meter to be
installed for Summer Water Mortarium users. (User costs)
8. Discuss and possibly take action to go into Closed Session when reviewing specific
utility customer accounts & usage.
