PAAB Secretary Ehrlich reported that after the discussion of the last meeting where panel members asked
if two designs by separate students could be combined into the mural, using the " I See you Wylie" design
and adding music elements, Professor McIlnay checked with Shea Ameen, creator of the " I See You Wylie"
design. She reported that Shea was not in favor of combining other elements of music into her original
design. She stated that she had put a lot of work into the design and preferred it to be her original.
The board was in consensus of leaving the design as originally presented and making just a few changes to
the design. The changes included: using the green comea with highlights, presented in the " I See you

PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION ITEMS
• Discussion regarding the artist’s proposed designs for the Historic Downtown Mural to be
located at South Ballard and Oak Street. (C. Ehrlich, Public Art Coordinator)
Executive Summary
This project is a collaboration between the City of Wylie Public Art and the Collin County Community College
Art Department. The students submitting proposals are majoring in art. The theme for this project is to create
a fun mural that depicts Wylie in some way and would be a great photo shoot for visitors to the City.
At our last meeting the committee discussed blending and re-creating Shea Ameen’s mural with some
incorporated music designs. I discussed this with Erika McIlnay, Art Coordinator at the Quad C Wylie campus.
She contacted the artist (Shea Ameen) to ask if she would be ok with the changes in her design. Shea replied
that she was not comfortable with changing her original design as she had worked on it for a very long time.
The committee is requested to take action regarding the three proposals and determine a finalist.
