Yukon Park Board Minutes Regular Meeting Wednesday , June 17 , 2020 6:00 P.M. Huckaba Building 532 W. Main The City of Yukon Park Board met for their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 17, 6:00 p.m. at the Huckaba Bldg., 532 W. Main, Yukon, OK. Roll Call: (Present) Joe Baumann, Vice Chairman Stephen Nelson Cathy Wright Jason Hammett (Absent) Joe Edwards Others Present: Jan Scott and Andrea Griffin Item 1: Approval of the minutes for February 19, 2020 Stephen Nelson moved to approve the minutes from February 19, 2020, Jason Hammett seconded the motion. The vote: Ayes: Bauman, Nelson, Wright and Hammett Nays: None The Vote 4-0 Motion Carried Item 2: Sports leagues updates Stephen Nelson stated recreational spring soccer was cancelled and competitive soccer is with Governor’s guidelines. Try outs were here with over 350 kids attending. Soccer is happy with the use of Spirit League bathrooms instead of porta pottys. Jason Hammett son’s Youth Baseball had a condensed schedule and will finish June 23rd. Jan Scott announced Girls Softball didn’t make for Spring and Horseshoe league had 28 attend. Item 3: Summer Program Report With limited staff at this time, we will offer Mini Camps at our Yukon Community Center. Specialized mini camps will be limited in enrollment and days. Also, offered, Friday Fun Days and Concerts In The Park. The first concert held last week, June 11th, with over 300 attended. Social distancing, hand sanitizing station and two food trucks were enjoyed by many. Thursday’s Concerts In The Park will continue through August 6th. The City will do a scaled back version of Freedom Fest 2020. It was noted that Atwood’s donated their construction soil to the baseball field at Taylor Park. P. O. Item 5: New Business Stephen Nelson presented an idea for vinyl advertising banners that would display Soccer logo along with City logo to promote the Club, Parks & Recreation, City of Yukon, etc. Item 6: Open Discussion Jason Hammett stated it was good to be back. Looking forward to building immunity from being out and about. Cathy Wright is looking forward to the Freedom Fest 2 day celebration. Commented on how beautiful the parks look with the flower beds weeded and mulched. Stephen Nelson also looking forward to Freedom Fest, busy with they’re new puppy and looking forward to rest of 2020 on a positive note. Joe Baumann pleased to hear about modified programs and ready to return to some sense of normalcy. Looking forward to Freedom Fest.
