Yukon Park Board Minutes Regular Meeting Wednesday , August 19, 2020 6:00 P.M. Huckaba Building 532 W. Main The City of Yukon Park Board met for their regular meeting on Wednesday, August 19, 6:00 p.m. at the Huckaba Bldg., 532 W. Main, Yukon, OK. Roll Call: (Present) Joe Edwards, Chairman Joe Baumann, Vice Chairman Stephen Nelson Absent: Cathy Wright Jason Hammett Others Present: Jan Scott, Andrea Griffin Item 1: Approval of the minutes for July 15, 2020 Joe Edwards moved to approve the minutes from July 15, 2020. Stephen Nelson seconded the motion. The vote: Ayes: Edwards, Baumann , Nelson Nays: None The Vote: 3-0 Motion Carried Item 2: Recommendation for an approval To the Yukon City Council from the Yukon Park Board, to provide funding for installation of an adequate size surge protector at the splash pad to assist in keeping it in operation under and after severe storm conditions. Joe Baumann moved to approve recommendation. Stephen Nelson seconded the motion. The vote: Ayes: Edwards, Baumann, Nelson Nays: None The Vote: 3-0 Item 3: Sports Leagues Updates Starting soon is Spirit League, Indoor soccer and Fall Baseball. No softball is being played except for Tim Rhoades tournament. Gold Cup Regional championship South Central BMX with over 400 riders is coming up. Flag football has moved the 27 teams from Jackie Cooper Gym to Yukon Community Center. Stephen Nelson said they were playing both competitive and recreational soccer at Ranchwood and Taylor Parks. P. DRC has their exercise and dance classes resuming. September 17th will be the annual Veteran’s Gala Fundraiser also on the 17th is Main Street’s Cruise-In for a Cause- raises funds for four charitable causes. Senior Games will be Sept. 21-26th. Bike to Work will be Sept. 26th. Chisholm Trail 30th Anniversary Festival is on Oct. 10th, 9-6p.m, Movie at the Coop Oct. 16th. Our annual partnership with Southwest Covenant School’s Patriot Project will be Nov. 6th. Item 5: Staff Reports Jan said three new full time employees were added and will start soon at JCG, YCC and Admin. Office. Item 6: New Business Joe Edwards would like to see regular park inspections resume once a month for items such as washed out areas, edging on sidewalks, equipment checks etc. He is also meeting with City Manager in regards to resurfacing of tennis courts, nets, pickle ball courts and basketball courts. Revision of park maintenance forms to be used for inspections. Discuss DRC parking lot expansion. Item 7: Open Discussion Joe Baumann said Taylor Park is looking good. Stephen Nelson said with all the excess rain parking lot at Taylor needs extra drainage. Joe Edwards disappointed in the cancellation of some city events.
