Item 5: Park Board Inspections- City Park
Joe Edwards stated it seems like everything is in pretty good condition but asked if tennis
court renovations will be in capital improvements this year. Another concern is about the
duck/geese poop and Spring nesting, being protective of their eggs on playgrounds and how
can animals be removed humanely.
Quincy said he has done some research and there may be broad spectrum lights that bother
the water fowl and they’ll leave.
Item 6: New Business
Park Board members were able to look at some examples of equipment for the possible dog
park Jan Scott researched. Further evaluations are needed.
Item 7: Open Discussion
Cathy Wright had to leave at 7:00 and Joe Baumann left at 7:45.
Stephen Nelson Will be glad when winter is over to get out and enjoy the parks, outdoors in
general.
Jason Hammett apologized for his absence at last month’s meeting. He said he’s
disappointed in the City’s decision to fence/place cattle, horses out on the Frisco’s land
which was voted on previously and failed as a future sports complex. He’s ready for Spring
and to enjoy the outdoors with his family.
Joe Edwards commended the City for its handling of the ice and snow on streets. Glad city is
trying to run baseball, tennis courts are still in bad condition. Jan stated they did get a quote
of $58,000.00 to refurbish courts.
