Yukon Park Board Minutes Regular Meeting Wednesday March 10 , 2021 6:00 P.M. Huckaba Building 532 W. Main The City of Yukon Park Board met for their regular meeting on Wednesday March 10, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. at the Huckaba Bldg., 532 W. Main, Yukon, OK. Roll Call: (Present) Joe Edwards, Chairman Joe Baumann, Vice Chairman Stephen Nelson Cathy Wright Absent: Jason Hammett Others Present: Jan Scott, Quincy Rinkle, Andrea Griffin Item 1: Approval of the minutes Monday, February 22, 2021 Cathy Wright moved to approve the minutes from February 22, 2021, Stephen Nelson seconded the motion. The vote: Ayes: Baumann, Nelson, Edwards and Wright Nays: None The Vote 4-0 Motion Carried Item 2: 2021-2022 Budget Items discussed by Quincy Rinkle were: the complex black fencing around baseball field and sidewalks on third base side of field 3, getting a new light pole in the NE corner of field 3, new sound system, additional lighting, netting, back stops and dug outs. 2. The DRC needs new air conditioner unit (currently old cooler converted from Food Lion) and a new partition. 3. New parking lot lights for YCC, flooring updates in the game and tv room. 4. Parking lot lights for JCG. 5. Tennis courts resurfacing. Joe Edwards discussed a possible Dickenson Dog Park for the SE corner since there is north side drainage and a lot of trees. Progress on the Mulvey Pond dock being held up by federal regulations All projects are not totaled, possibly ask for all facilities rentals revenue go back into funding of programs Item 3: Grants/ Spring Events/ Program Reports P. Our Trout Fish Out event was a success with over two hundred people attending. Ribbons and door prizes were awarded for fishing, casting and racing competition. Spring Break Kids Camp is fully enrolled next week. Next event on our calendar will be Sr. Games with a Hawaiian Luau themed Sr. Social to kick things off on April 13th, 5:00-7:00p.m. There will be a costume contest, door prizes, dancing, food and live music performed by Steve Crossley that evening tickets are free for Sr. Games participants and $3 for non-participants. We’ll have free Fitness in the Park from April 6-Oct.31, Tuesday at 6:30p.m. Zumba and Saturday at 8:00a.m. Upcoming Festival of the Child on May 1st, as of now at least 50 vendors are participating in this outdoor event. Youth Sports Baseball has been busy with two rainouts to be rescheduled. Item 4: Staff/Personnel Reports No new staff members. Item 5: Park Board Inspections- City Park Dickenson Park was inspected by Park Board Members Joe Edwards, Joe Baumann, Stephen Nelson and Cathy Wright. Best area for dog park. Liability needs to be researched. Item 6: New Business Park Board members were able to look at some examples of equipment for the possible dog park Jan Scott researched. Further evaluations are needed. Item 7: Open Discussion Cathy Wright Thanked staff for working so hard to get back on track. She’s looking forward to Spring with beautiful weather. Stephen Nelson is looking forward to Spring to get out and enjoy outside. He also thanked the employees for their continued efforts. Joe Baumann also thanked staff for their work and can’t wait for everything to be open and attend City Events. Joe Edwards will be glad this pandemic year is over, pleased to move forward.
