Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners November 24, 2014 Meeting Minutes Present: President Steve Mundy, Vice President Susana Suarez, Commissioner Jeff Papa, Commissioner Suzy Nagy, Chief of Police Robert Knox, Attorney Terry Dawson, not present Commissioner Madison Carney Call to Order: President Mundy Approval of minutes from the October 27, 2014 meeting. Motion made by Commissioner Nagy and Seconded by Vice President Suarez. Motion passed by unanimous vote. Old Business: Chief Knox gave update on the Conditional Offer of Employment extended to candidate for the position of Patrolman 1. Chief Knox gave update on current application process. New Business: Chief Knox apprised the Commissioners of the pending retirement of Uniform Services Division Captain Doug Gauthier and Captain Gauthier’s desire to stay on as a Reserve Police Officer with the agency. Motion made by Vice President Suarez and Seconded by Commissioner Nagy to approve Captain Gauthier staying on as a Reserve Police Officer effective on the official date of his retirement (January 16, 2015). Motion passed by unanimous vote. Chief Knox briefed the Commissioners on the promotion of Lieutenant Robert Musgrave to the rank of Captain for the Uniform Services Division to be effective on January 16, 2015. Chief Knox requested permission to eliminate the position of Detective Sergeant and create the position of Detective Lieutenant in the Criminal Investigations Division pending final approval of the 2015 budget. If approved Detective Sergeant Charles White will be promoted to the rank of Detective Lieutenant effective January 1, 2015. Motion made to approve this request by Vice President Suarez and seconded by Commissioner Nagy. Motion passed by unanimous vote.
