Town of Zionsville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners February 29, 2016 Meeting Minutes Present: President Suzy Nagy, Vice President Susana Suarez, Commissioner Jeff Papa, Commissioner Madison Carney, Commissioner Josh Garrett, Chief of Police Robert Knox, Captain Jeff Morris, Officer Josh Chapman Call to Order: President Nagy A. Oath of Office by Boone County Clerk Jessica Fouts, oath given to Commissioners Papa, Suarez, Carney and Garrett. B. Election of Officers for the year of 2016. For the position of President, motion was made by current Vice President Susana Suarez for Commissioner Jeff Papa, Seconded by Commissioner Josh Garrett, motion passed by unanimous vote. For the position of Vice President, motion was made by newly elected President Papa for Vice President Susana Suarez, Seconded by Josh Garrett, motion passed by unanimous vote. Gavel of President passed to President elect Jeff Papa who assumed leadership of the Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners for the Town of Zionsville. C. Approval of minutes from June, 2016 meeting. Motion made by Commissioner Garrett and seconded by Commissioner Nagy. Passed by unanimous vote. Old Business: None New Business: A. ZPD Mentorship Program was explained by Captain Jeff Morris and Chief Knox B. ZPD K-9: Chief Knox explained that enough donations have been received to purchase a second K-9 for the Zionsville Police Department. Chief Knox explained the cost and veterinary expenses will be covered by donations. C. Explorer Post: Officer Josh Chapman explained the Explorer program to the Commissioners. Discussion was had regarding the sample forms that were provided in the packet that was presented to the Commissioner. Commissioners had questions  regarding the personal questions that would possibly be made to prospective explorers and Chief Knox was directed to have himself, Officer Chapman meet with Commissioner Garrett to go over the questions in the packet. Public Comment: None Adjourn Meeting: Motion made by Vice President Suarez, Seconded by Commissioner Carney, meeting adjourned by unanimous vote. The next scheduled meeting of the Zionsville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners is scheduled for March 28, 2016, IMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE TOWN COUNCIL AGENDA MEETING in the Bev Harves Room at the Zionsville Town Hall.
