Town of Zionsville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners May 31, 2016 Meeting Minutes Present: President Jeff Papa, Vice President Susana Suarez, Commissioner Suzy Nagy, Commissioner Josh Garrett, Chief of Police Robert Knox Not Present: Commissioner Carney Call to Order: President Papa Approval of Minutes from February 29, 2016 Meeting, Motion made by V.P. Suarez and Seconded by Commissioner Garrett. Motion passed by unanimous vote. Old Business: None New Business: Sergeant Joseph Robinson was awarded a plaque from Chief Knox recognizing his achievement of installing over 1,000 Child Safety Seats. Retiring Reserve Detective John Franklin was awarded a Plaque from Chief Knox for over 36 years of volunteer service to the Town of Zionsville. Chief Knox also read a letter from the Boone County Prosecutor Todd Meyer recognizing Detective Franklin’s service. Chief Knox also read a letter from the Director of the Hamilton / Boone County Drug Task Force recognizing Detective Franklin’s service. Discussion was had regarding proposed SOP #5 and SOP # 61 regarding verbiage within the proposed changes. Chief Knox requested the proposal’s be tabled so further work may be completed on the proposal’s. Proposals were tabled until a future meeting. SOP # 27 was reviewed and adopted by the Commissioners, Motion made by: Commissioner Garrett, Seconded by V.P. Suarez. Motion passed by unanimous vote. Motion was made to adjourn the meeting by V.P.
