TOWN OF ZIONSVILLE, INDIANA BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS NOVEMBER 21, 2022, PUBLIC MEETING 1100 WEST OAK STREET ZIONSVILLE, INDIANA MEETING MEMORANDA I. OPENING A. CALL TO ORDER: President Joe Culp called the meeting to order. B. MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE: President Joe Culp, Vice President Josh Garrett, Commissioner Kristin Vargo, Commissioner Suzy Nagy and Commissioner Graig Collings C. MEMBERS NOT IN ATTENDANCE: None D. OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE: Chief of Police Michael Spears, Captain Drake Sterling, Captain Marius Klykken, Sgt. Josh Samuelson, Heather Harris, Legal counsel for the Board of Police Commissioners, Tiffany Diefenderfer II. APPROVAL OF THE FOLLOWING MEETING MEMORANDA: A. Commissioner Kristin Vargo made a motion to approve the October 17, 2022, Meeting Memoranda as submitted. Commissioner Suzy Nagy seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0. III. OLD BUSINESS A. None. IV. NEW BUSINESS A. None. V. OTHER MATTERS A. Chief Spears provided an update on the CALEA accreditation and stated the ZPD obtain accreditation on November 19, 2022. Chief thanked the entire department and Sgt. Samuelson for his hard work to obtain this accreditation. B. Chief Spears provided a brief update on the recruiting process and invited Captain Sterling to provide further details. Captain Sterling stated that there were 57 total applicants with 22 of those applicants attending the physical fitness assessment on November 20, 2022. Of those 22 applicants, 19 completed the written test. Oral interviews will be held on December 6 and 7, 2022 at ZPD. VI. ADJOURN Vice President Garrett made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Vargo seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed with a vote of 5-0. The next regular Board of Police Commissioners meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. or upon the conclusion of the Town Council meeting.
