Zionsville Pathways Committee Meeting

Pathways Committee Meeting Minutes March 22, 2017 6:00pm Meeting attendees: Art Small Evan Williams Larry Boley Bret Brewer Jeff Edmundson Matt Dickey Elizabeth Hopper New Officers President: Evan Williams V Pres: Art Small Secretary: Evan Williams, Temp Bike Friendly Status Jeff & Art are working on this…needing to resubmit to continue with our current Bronze level. We plan to hopefully improve our level with our next submission…early next year. Walk Friendly Status Jeff & Art are handling this, too. We are not yet certified for this. We're planning for another submission this May. Overley-Worman Park Matt outlined the status of this new potential park next to the new Vonterra subdivision. Vonterra has given Parks somewhat the western half of the land required to continue the Rail Trail south from the 100' Bridge to Vonterra. Parks is considering looking into the eastern half for a full-sized pathway. Timing of this pathway is dependent on finding funding…Matt is pursuing a federal grant. Pathways Master Map Approval Jeff followed up to determine if our Pathways Master Map was approved. He said this happened in a November, 2015 Town Council meeting as part of the Zionsville Transportation Plan. Our map may be viewed at: www.zionsville-in.gov/DocumentCenter/Home/View/1362. Evan will still pursue obtaining a digital file of our map such that prints may be made. Widening Zionsville Road Matt noted plans to widen Zionsville Road south of Zionsville. He thinks this project may already be out for engineering. Evan asked to assure pathways are being planned for this design as outlined in our Pathways Master Map. Elizabeth offered to check into this. Pathways Master List We briefly reviewed the list identifying a few easy changes. Evan will update the list and distribute again. We will try to carve out more time in future meetings to update this list. 2017 Goals Didn't get time for this, we'll try again next meeting.
